Claire Grant
Claire is a Graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelors of international reporting Journalism, and a minor in Public Relations. With prior bylines in Spartan Newsroom, The State News, Moonlight UI and most recently KTUL News Channel 8 in Tulsa before reaching Springfield, Illinois where she writes business enterprise.In 2023 she took part in co-writing '100 Questions and Answers about Hmong Americans'. Grant performed cross-cultural interviews, wrote and edited to create a guide to increase understanding of Hmong people and the secret war.Covering policy reform and regulation as Public Health reporter in 2022 during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, she covered bussing meetings in Lansing. In February of 2023, Claire was a member of a small team covering breaking news of the Michigan State School Shooting, providing following updates and stories months afterward.She always seeks to expand her knowledge of writing and reporting important information to the public. By building connections and putting her passion into words, she has found her heart in the newsroom being able to give a voice to people who would not otherwise have one at the table, and cover policy change that stays in place to help the public.
